ABOUT

Italian soprano Elisa Soster (1997, Aosta), studied flute and singing at the Conservatoire de la Vallée d’Aoste. In 2019 she graduated with greatest distinction at the International Opera Academy in Ghent (Belgium).
​​She has joined Opera Ballet Vlaanderen as a member of the Young Ensemble since the 20/21 season.

Elisa made her operatic debut in 2017 as Gilda in Rigoletto in the Magnitogorsk Opera and Ballet theatre (Russia); since then she has interpreted various roles such as Serpina in La Serva Padrona (G. B. Pergolesi) Sandrina in La Finta Giardiniera (W.A. Mozart), Sophie in Werther (J. Massenet), Najade in Ariadne auf Naxos (R. Strauss), Mélisande in a reduction of Pelléas et Mélisande (C. Debussy).
As a concert soloist, she appeared in the Symphony IV (G. Mahler), Sarah was ninety years old (A. Pärt), Carmina Burana (C. Orff), Requiem (G. Fauré), Jagdkantate and Ich hatte viel Bekümmernis (J.S. Bach), Stabat Mater (L. Boccherini and G. B. Pergolesi).

As a result of her true interest in modern and contemporary music, she created the role of Caterina for the world creation Silent City by N. Osborne, and sang the solistic parts in Revelations and A Matter of Triumph and Void by W. Henderickx, as well as covering the title role of Vigdis for his world creation De Bekeerlinge.

She has worked with conductors Giedrė Šlekytė, Alejo Pérez (Symphonic Orchestra of Opera Vlaanderen), Koen Kessels, Korneel Bernolet (Apotheosis Orchestra and Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen), Jeroen Felix (Holland Baroque and Nederlandse Bach Vereniging‘), Filip Rathé (Spectra Ensemble), Stijn Saveniers (HERMESensemble), Daniele Ruzza (Ensemble delle Fondazione Arturo Toscanini) and directors David Alden, Guy Joosten, Meryl Tankard, Lucija Brnic, Wolfgang Gruber, Benoît de Leersnyder and Gemma Beltrán. She has performed in  Kunsthuis Opera Vlaanderen, BOZAR, Concertgebouw Brugge, Minardschouwburg in Ghent, Théâtre Royal des Galeries in Brussels, Piccolo Regio Puccini, Magnitogorsk Opera Ballet and Theatre and Teatro Splendor in Aosta, among others.
​She won the third prize in the Italian National Award Premio Abbado.​
